The title isn't having to do with *cat sex*. In fact, seeing as how all 3 of us have been spayed or neutered (not both), we don't really have the desire to engage in those activities.
Anyway, it has come to our attention (through spying on conversations that take place amongst our humans), that there have been a couple of gender issues surrounding other cats. As in, the owners of said cats mistakenly took them for the wrong sex! How could they!
Granted, it was easy to tell that Ashley and Alexa were female, seeing as how they each had a pink card, not a blue one when they were adopted from the humane society. Stat, we're sure was the same. Unmistakably a boy. Not to mention that he SEEMS more masculine (and his large size is definitely part of that), and Ashley and Alexa more feminine. Having said that, we could see perhaps how someone might not be able to tell the sex of a young kitten. They all act pretty much the same way, and they are all the same size, roughly.
But...there's some key features of boy kitties as opposed to girls. First, boys have testicles (un-neutered ones). Perhaps these features might not be visible as kittens, and they are certainly not present when they get fixed. That is excusable. Second, girls have a second opening down there that boys definitely don't. This should be easily visible at kittenhood, as well as after being spayed! Come on. We're happy cats. We walk around with our tails in the air, showing our business to anyone whether they want to see or not.
Two instances, involving 3 cats, have come to our attention. In all instances, it is that a true male cat was mistakenly thought to be female! Not the other way around, of course. Perhaps alot of humans have the notion that all cats by default are female. This is not the case. Otherwise we couldn't procreate.
